Maxine Dodd's 'Racing Lines' is more than a collection of paintings of The Tour de France. The spectacle of speed, colour and pageantry that accompany the tour has been captured in these dynamic artworks.
Maxine's pen whizzes across the surface of the paper and colours bleed together as watercolour is dashed through the marks - speed is of the essence. As Maxine puts it, "I couldn't dither - I had to be decisive in my mark making and rely on my hand and my eye."
Her artworks, like the cyclists are a fast-moving flash of colour and line. This collection of small works is a celebration of this iconic event.
