Andy Shore is a prize-winning watercolourist whose light-filled street scenes have earned much recognition. A painter for over 30 years, Andy's works include a variety of media, including oils and pastels, but, his most practised medium is watercolour.
"There is something special about the way light looks in watercolours. I am a traditionalist; a purist, in my technique. I don't add white paint afterwards. I use the white of the paper as my highlight."
Born in Nottinghamshire, Andy now lives in rural Leicestershire where local villages provide inspiration. He is a member of the Leicester Sketch Club and performs art demonstrations and workshops for art societies when he is not at work for De Montfort University as a technical instructor in Art and Design. Andy's paintings have featured in numerous art publications and are always to be found on display at the Cank Street Gallery.
